This walk was on the opposite side of the river, on the same side as the Fyansford Paper Mills.
Barwon River, Geelong
Did a quick walk around Balyang while house sitting for my parents recently.
It was noticeable how the water levels had gone down.
We were at the part of the boardwalk by the river. The plan was to look for waterbugs – and we did. Only I may have gotten distracted.
Two white faced herons had recently fledged at Balyang. I didn’t get a chance to photograph them in the nest so was pretty excited to see it here.
Found this recently while at the boardwalk. It is a fantastic area for waterbugs and especially caddisflies. I’ve tried to narrow this down to species but it is was beyond my expertise.
