Great Ocean Road

Stopping At Aire River

October 13, 2020 by Jade Craven

10-251

Dad stopped at this location for one reason: there was a Lake Craven and we were going to visit it! He didn’t tell us until we got there and the surprise was worth it, I though it was hilarious.

Technically these photos aren’t actually at Lake Craven but they were close enough. It is a beautiful area and one I hope to explore properly down the track. Was pretty awesome this trip to get a closer look at multiple locations I’d be visiting should I ever complete the Great Ocean Walk.

Visiting Johanna Beach Along The Great Ocean Road

October 11, 2020 by Jade Craven

122-179

We decided to visit Johanna Beach after exploring Castle Cove. It was fairly close and we figured there wasn’t much to lose.

We weren’t that impressed. It was nice enough but nothing that stood out. The walk to the beach was a lot easier than getting to Castle Cove. Always worth checking out new places though – just in case 🙂

‘Go Home’ – Vandalism At Castle Cove Lookout

October 5, 2020 by Jade Craven

159-011

It was disappointing the see the vandalism at this lookout. I can understand the frustration of people who are trying to protect the community from those that are ignoring restrictions. My town, Geelong, is particular vulnerable to this due to its proximity to Melbourne.

The restrictions have since eased for regional Victoria. Hopefully it can get removed soon. At this point, not many tourists would actually see it.

The Cliffs Of Castle Cove

October 3, 2020 by Jade Craven

59-105

We were visiting Castle Cove to look for very specific patterns in the cliffs. We were able to find them quickly. I wasn’t expecting just how beautiful the rest of the cliffs were, even if they didn’t share that same pattern. You can see the history of the area in the different rock types and colours.

These photos don’t do the area justice, due to the bright light. I would love to return here at another time and even with a drone to get different pictures.
