Sea Life Washed Up Along Lorne

April 10, 2018 by Jade Craven Leave a Comment

Recently, we were in Lorne for the Sculpture Festival. We went for a quick walk along the beach before heading back. We didn’t find any rockpools, but found lots of interesting marine life washed up amongst the seaweed.

I haven’t sought identification for the following specimens, as I’m overwhelmed by the number of things I’m trying to get identified. It was a lot different to other places we’ve visited.

Wye River Bushfires: 21 Months On

October 2, 2017 by Jade Craven Leave a Comment

They were doing a lot of roadworks along the the latter part of the Great Ocean Road, so I was able to capture the regrowth in better detail than I have on previous trips. The area is looking a lot better than last visit in April 2016.

The trees still look pretty black and sparse. This is curious as 18 months ago, there seemed to be a lot of leaves on the trunks of the trees. There is also a lot of activity and growth at the ground level. I hope to return to get a closer look at the recovery.
