We didn’t have much luck beachcombing at Bancoora yesterday. We did have better luck at a group of rocks that border the beach.
Now, I had no intention of actually checking out this rocky area. It felt too unstable and tricky to walk around. I suggested that if we wanted to go rockpooling, we should go to a different beach. My more nimble nephew had other plans.
We ended up finding some cool stuff. It was difficult to walk around, especially as I was wearing hiking shoes.
Today was a beautiful day for exploring. There was a solid low tide at 11am and it was cloudy. There has been a lot of rain and windy weather recently, so we decided to visit Bancoora Beach in the hope that something interesting would have washed up.
It was a solid trip but we didn’t find much with beachcombing. Most of the stuff we found as at the high tide level, with very little between the water and the level.
Bancoora is always worth visiting. The dark clouds made for some fantastic photos. The nerd in me would have preferred rockpools at low tide though 😉
Didn’t get many photos this trip. Did observe a european shore crab!
This bark hut is found in Aireys Inlet. According to I Am Aireys Inlet,
The Bark Hut close by is a replica of a settler’s hut from the 1860’s which was destroyed in the 1983 Ash Wednesday bushfires.
