Darter Feeding Grown Up Chick

We interrupt regular programming to share these photos of a male darter feeding a chick that is almost the same size as it. I’ve been trying to capture something like this for weeks, it was one of the first times this happened without foliage blocking the view.

Ah, darters. I will miss thee.
