Another impromptu request to look for marine life. My focus was on getting the insides of the sea squirts, especially ones that weren’t Pyura Dalbyi.
Styela plicata
A friend has identified these as Styela plicata. This is due to the “lumpy body (when visible) and double striped siphons.” I’m not sure. There seems to be a lot variation in the species I’ve labelled as S. plicata. It’s something I’m definitely going to have to research more.
Unsure
Normally I would call this Pyura Dalbyi… but has some very strong differences. It’s proper pink, not the pinkish orange. It has four long thingies coming out the siphons. Sometimes the siphon/rim/apertures I see have varying lengths, but not as consistent as this. The long bits have an orange tinge at the base and there may be red lines in between.
It also looks like grey and white poop next to it?
Unsure
External photo quality is poor. But the insides look different 😀
Microcosmus squamiger
Unsure
The tentacles(?) look like a spider web.
Other
In the above case, I was interested in the almost star-shaped creatures growing over the botrylloides.
