Gang Gangs At Apollo Bay Harbour

I love cockatoos. I’m particularly fond of red tailed black cockatoos and gang gangs. I’ve seen a red tail as a flyover; it was so quick that it doesn’t even count. I used to get gang gang cockatoos when I lived in Highton but not so much in Corio. When I did see them they were high up in the old trees.

We were talking to the harbour when I heard their distinct call. They would fly off if people got too close but were content to stay in the same spot if people kept a respectful distance. I photographed them for about an hour for two of the days. I may have been partially motivated by the opportunity to get another bird-poop photo. It was awesome to get a close up look of their markings.
