Leaf Curling Spider Eating A Wasp

March 5, 2016 by Jade Craven Leave a Comment

I was walking along the Barwon River with mum when all of a sudden she said, “Jade! Look!”

I stopped and looked where she was pointing. Shit! I frantically grabbed for the camera and tried to focus. Sometimes, especially with smaller spiders, the lens has trouble focusing.

Fortunately I was able to get a wide variety of images of the spider grabbing the wasp and dragging it back to its leafy hideaway. Photographing spiders and their prey has since become a fascination of mine, but it’s incredibly difficult. Such a fun challenge!
