Little Black Cormorants Getting Fed

February 24, 2016 by Jade Craven Leave a Comment

We all know I love photos of cormorants and darters getting fed. I have an extensive collection of photographs as it is! Now, finally, I have some of little black cormorants too add to it.

The photos aren’t as clear as they could be – mostly because these guys were nesting at the back. Regardless, it is fascinating to see the contrasts between these chicks and those of the little pied cormorant. At this age, the differences are very stark; most noticeably the lack of white on the chest. I’m really glad I pushed myself to document this breeding cycle instead of giving in to the tiredness.
