Yesterday, I went to my parents bush block to document the regrowth. I very nearly didn’t go, as I was feeling quite ill, but my friends reminded me about just how quickly the changes would happen now – especially after the recent rains!
It was a lot different. We still get covered in dirt every visit but some ground cover is starting to come back. We even saw two bracken plants as we were leaving… grrr.
It was very interesting to see what the regrowth looked like on different trees. I loved getting photos of the plants just pushing against the darkened bark. Even better, there was so many more insects this time! I’ll be sharing the photos later this week.
It was weird to see regrowth on trees that we had cut down. I also couldn’t figure out why some trees were doing okay and others weren’t. I have so much too learn! There wasn’t that many birds, and what few I saw stuck to the borders like usual. I thought this was odd, considering there was a lot of insect life. I didn’t go looking for the skinks.

Will be posting more update in the coming days as I go through the rest of the pictures!
