Photographing Treecreepers At The Property

November 30, 2015 by Jade Craven Leave a Comment

I love treecreepers. They are so annoying to photograph and never seem to stay still. When you get the shot though, it all seems worth it.

I struggled hard to photograph these. I had it on auto as they were moving so quickly in varying lighting conditions. Not all the shots turned out – many were too dark or too blurry. These are the ones I’m proudest of.

The bird in the below photo looked different from the others. The belly seemed darker and the body shaped wrong. I was assured that it was just a female. I now think it is because of the angle.

One of the reasons I enjoyed them so much is because they are always eating. Of course, many spring birds spend a lot of time eating. I just don’t see it as often.

The remaining photos show the birds from various angles. Excessive, yes, but still a challenging photographic subject. I so badly hope to see more of them in the future, especially other species. I’m becoming quite fond of the little buttheads.
