The blog has been very cormorant heavy in the past few days – primarily because the behaviour was so interesting – but they aren’t the only thing that is interesting along the Barwon River.
On the way back from Apollo Bay, my nephew and I had a bit of a tiff. I went to Balyang to calm down. At the time, I noted that there wasn’t much interesting here other then some darters on a nest near the bridge. I took a couple of photos and didn’t blog about them because there was nothing interesting.
I photograph the darters around here a lot. I have previously gotten photos of them breeding here before. Last week however, things were a bit more interesting. I was able to test out the lens in better light and I must say, I’m impressed. Look at those feet!
I’m also impressed with the level of detail on this birds wing. I can’t describe just how amazing it looks when you zoom in on the mid sized feathers. It reminds me of a painting or a sculpture.
Your Photography Bores me.
I was photographing the cormorants when I saw the darter yawn and I frantically tried to capture it. Success! It just seemed so comical.
