The Bush Block Got Burned: Part 1

December 28, 2015 by Jade Craven Leave a Comment

Last week, I got the text from Mum.

“It’s gone. There’s nothing left.”

There had been a bushfire nearby the previous day. Dad was frantically following updates online and noticed that a CFA unit was sent to the court where the property was. At this point, I thought that nothing was wrong. Bushfires wouldn’t hit there! It’s too close to the main road.

Well, I’m bloody naive. It did hit there. It burned down the shed and the attached pegola. It burned down 15 years of memories. 3 cars. This didn’t impact me so much it devastated my parents.

There is no leaf litter. Fences have been burned. Fortunately, there was still many signs of life. The below photos show some of what I saw yesterday.
